About the Journal

Focus and Scope

The Mayurqa journal is a periodical publication by the Department of History and Theory of Art of the University of the Balearic Islands. It is focussed on publishing research into different branches of History and History of Art covering a broad spectrum (global, Spanish and Balearic contexts). 

The journal is structured into different sections:

  • Miscellaneous
  • Documents
  • Book reviews
  • News

Peer Review Process

Mayurqa has an advisory board comprising nationa specialists in the different areas of History and History of Art.

Original manuscripts submitted for publication are peer-reviewed by two experts in the study's respective field. This will be a blind review and, therefore, originals sent to reviewers will not include author details.

The experts selected by the Editorial Board will be external.

The expert reports may come back:

a) Positive:

  • No changes
  • Specific changes
  • Substantial changes

b) Negative

Where the expert reports do not concur, the Editorial Board shall request a third review.

 

Open Access Policy

The journal provides open access to content based on the principle of research being available to the public making for a wider and more global exchange of knowledge.
